Abstract
An electrochemical probe for on-line monitoring of biofilm activity in cooling waters has been developed. These probes have been exposed to laboratory and power plant environments to demonstrate their response to biological activity and other effects such as deposition of mineral scales. Results of those investigations are presented. The installation of the probes for on-line monitoring in other power plant systems is also discussed.
