The paper describes the 20" pipeline system from the Sleipner offshore field to the Kårstø facilities in Norway. Some parts of this system are located in tunnels under some deep fjords. The conditions are very corrosive and conditions for maintenance difficult. Aluminium metal spray was selected in order to achieve a system with long lifetime. The paper describes the details of the coating specification and gives some information on different problem areas. The conclusion was that the application was successfully, but many things should be improved for future projects of this nature.
