Abstract
Results are presented of a study into the heat resistant properties of electric-arc vacuum deposited coatings on the basis of titanium and zirconium silicides. It has been shown that these coatings may be used as protection for different classes of steels and alloys. A connection has been found of the composition of coatings obtained and their heat-resistant properties. It has been demonstrated that the use of an alloying gas during the coating formation enables their protective properties to be improved.
