Abstract
Both thermoset and thermoplastic materials are used widely in making wet scrubbing devices of all types. Operating experience and service life have generally been excellent. This paper reports on the diverse use of plastic materials in various wet scrubber devices for cleaning flue gases emanating from hazardous waste incinerators, the few cases where failures have occurred, the reasons for these failures and resolution of the failures.
