A review is made of the historical use of asbestos, and the effects of asbestos on the body. The regulations and legal considerations of asbestos containing coatings are discussed. The role of OSHA and EPA in promulgating asbestos regulations is considered. Effects of non-compliance and what to do if faced with an asbestos problem on pipelines are discussed. Equipment capable of cleaning asbestos coatings is described.
