Abstract
A code repair was effected on the pressure shell of a stainless clad column which was damaged by caustic stress cracking. The clad liner was adequately repaired before the tower was placed back in service. Crack growth monitoring was done using angle beam UT while the vessel was on stream for about one and one half years to insure that cracks were not propagating into the pressure shell.
