Abstract
The use of nickel alloys in chemical process applications is described. Recently, INCONEL* alloy 625 and INCO* alloy C-276 have been clad to carbon steel plate. Production and properties of the clad steel plate are reviewed and a brief discussion is presented on fabrication and welding. Laboratory tests in practical chemical process environments suggest that alloy 625 and C-276 clad steel plates are as corrosion resistant as the solid alloy plate.
