Abstract
This paper reviews the effect of temperature, H2S/CO2 ratio, time, velocity and inhibitor concentration on the corrosion of low carbon steel. Although considerable work has been reported in the literature on H2S and H2S/CO2 interaction with steel at ambient temperature and pressure, little work has been published under conditions found in deep hot sour gas wells. Laboratory data are presented and compared with relevant literature data showing the effects of the above variables.
