Abstract
A new corrosion monitoring method has been developed which uses the reaction of a chemical indicator with active corrosion sites to measure on-going corrosion within a cooling tower system. The measurement provides information not obtainable with traditional methods such as coupons, Corraters1 and Corrosometers1 . A major problem is interference by oxidizing biocides such as chlorine.
