Abstract
Bimetallic tubes produced by a variety of fabrication techniques were obtained from eight different suppliers. Production size tubing with an API C-90 grade outer body lined with one of seven different corrosion resistant alloys was studied; couplings were provided with two of these tube samples. The tubes were subjected to various tests which were intended to assess the feasibility for their use as production tubing in corrosive service. Environmental exposure, hydrogen charging, and bond strength tests were used to obtain the needed information. Results were encouraging; they also indicated that some fabrication techniques are more suitable than others.
