Abstract
The protection efficiency of several commercial anti-rust agents used for the protection of hollow members on motor vehicles was assessed using accelerated laboratory tests and 4-year field tests on cars. All agents considerably reduced the corrosion attack on bare and electrocoated as well as on precorroded specimens. The heaviest attack was observed in crevices and in specimens filled with road mud. Expected life of the coatings are given as well as suggestions of suitable intervals between treatments.
