Abstract
Processing crude oils high in naphthenic acids results in concentrating the acid content in refinery units downstream of the atmospheric tower. Typically this also results in a highly corrosive enviornment. A variety of methods are available in the industry to control naphthenic acid corrosion, and will be described.
