Abstract
Temperature, stress and metallurgical evaluations of deaerators that have experienced weld cracking are presented. Stress corrosion and corrosion fatigue testing performed on deaerator steel in deaerator water at different oxygen concentrations is also discussed. These results are applied in fracture mechanics evaluations to assess the integrity and need for repairs in deaerators.
