Abstract
Several aspects of silica deposition in cooling water applications have been studied. Utilizing this know ledge and the basics of silica chemistry, a new technology for inhibiting silica formation in cooling water systems has been developed. Based on data from laboratory tests and field application studies, ways of preventing amorphous silica deposition are discussed.
