Abstract
Historical data from the LaQue Center's 25 meter marine atmospheric test sites at Kure Beach reveal significant variations that have occurred in the annual corrosion rates of wrought iron test samples over a 37 year period (1949-1985). An intensive one year test program was initiated to determine the effect of exposure periods, exposure location, and elevation. Also investigated was the influence of chlorides on the corrosion of wrought iron in a marine environment.
