Abstract
NACE T1G--17d is charged with investigating the effects of corrosion inhibitors on elastomers. In the course of that task group work, an idea of attempting to classify inhibitors by an active amine containing chemical was presented. The proposed classification system was set up containing nine types of chemicals. This paper deals with a very preliminary test undertaken in our lab utilizing this classification scheme on three types of elastomers. A test procedure and resulting test data is discussed .
