Abstract
Previous literature has presented the fundamentals of corrosion and corrosion control and monitoring. It has covered why and how metals corrode and what can be done to control corrosion. However, few papers mention the use of computers for corrosion detection and corrosion control. The intent of this paper is to review the current uses of computers in corrosion control and monitoring, to offer a historical survey on computers and their usage in the corrosion field, and to suggest new applications for computers in corrosion control and monitoring.
