Abstract
Considerations for selecting compounds for use under the extreme conditions existing in deep hot gas wells are discussed. Autoclave test procedures are described and compared with other corrosion test methods. Heat stability and emulsion tests are described. Phase behavior tests and the importance of phase behavior testing at downhole conditions are discussed. Case histories for two different treating methods are included where laboratory data have been supported by successful field applications.
