Abstract
Corrosion tests have been conducted on several candidate materials of construction for flue gas desulfurization systems. These tests have utilized a model SO2 scrubber system which allows realistic simulation of absorber and outlet duct environments. Results are presented from tests involving a limestone based, high chloride content slurry to which fluoride salts have been added with and without the presence of flyash.
