Abstract
The saving of energy is a major consideration throughout the world. Antifoulants can play an important role in reducing fuel cost in crude units. The calculation of the working efficiency is of prime importance. An example is a 120,000 BPSD crude unit where the fuel cost was reduced by $600,000 per year by use of Anti-foulant. The details of the application and the technical evaluation are explained.
In the estimation of exchanger heat transfer ability, we successfully applied several calculations. We calculated the Rf(1) of the heat exchangers as well as the total heat recovery derived from these Rf's.
We will present a new simplified method for the calculation of the Rf using only four parameters: U(2), Wi(3), Wo(4), and Time(5).
