Abstract
A large cooling tower water system contained all copper/nickel heat transfer surfaces with concrete or cement lined circulating lines. The few carbon steel surfaces were coated to prevent corrosion. A triazole inhibitor was test screened, full scale tested and has been in use for four years in this system. This paper describes the development and use as well as the trials and tribulations of the treatment program.
