Abstract
Operational experiences with valves and associated materials problems from two different production areas are described. One is in the Middle East where H2S and. CO2 are present and sulphide stress cracking has been encountered. The other is in the North Sea where H2S is absent but sufficient CO2 is dissolved in the formation water to cause corrosion problems. Remedial actions are discussed.
