Refractories and corrosion resistant membranes are being designed and installed in stacks, heaters, and waste beat recovery equipment to protect the casings and pressure containing membranes from corrosion. Examples are outlined for specific items of operating equipment. Typical beater lining systems guidelines are presented. Design of protection for hot tubesheets is outlined.
