Abstract
In this presentation, problems experienced with industrial ion exchange plants involved in water treatment are categorized into three main areas. Each area is discussed in depth with detailed explanations offered as to why the problem occurred. In addition, corrective procedures are outlined so that normal plant operation can resume. Specifically, various forms of ion exchange resin fouling are addressed and detailed clean up procedures presented.
