Abstract
The use of different materials for various components of a cooling water system has created serious corrosion problems and has prompted utilities to seek some form of corrosion protection. Protective coatings and cathodic protection are the two most widely used protective systems.
Some corrosion problems associated with heat exchangers, condenser water boxes and circulating cooling water piping as well as cathodic protection systems performance are discussed in this paper.
