Crude shortages in the past few years have caused refiners to use almost any available crude, some of which have very high nitrogen and sulfur contents. This coupled with more severe cracking conditions, due to improved catalysts, etc. have added to the severity of corrosion and hydrogen blistering problems in a variety of refinery gas recovery and sweetening processes.
