The use of physical vapor deposited (PVD) coatings produced by electron beam deposition techniques for the protection of gas turbine parts from high temperature corrosion has grown world-wide. Equipment for the large scale production of corrosion resistant coated parts, such as blades and vanes has been manufactured in Europe, the U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R.
