This paper presents one manufacturer's approach to a laboratory testing criterion for protective linings that are intended for a wet scrubber environment. The objective is to establish realistic methods for predicting in-service performance and/or for identifying the failure mode. The methods utilized are an outgrowth of the concepts used for qualifying coatings for nuclear power facilities.
