The function of the pure lead charge retaining lead acid storage battery is to supply the counter EMF (electro motive force) to reverse the corrosive action of oxidants present around the pipe line during the life of the system. If the battery is a functional part of a solar photovoltaic power system, it must provide power when the solar panel is under periods of low light, darkness, cloud cover or when the panel is covered with ice and snow.
