Coatings of all types have been in use for many years. Some are strictly decorative, however, most offer at least some degree of protection. This could be merely protection against outside weathering or a barrier against more aggressive chemical environments or even resistance to wear and abrasion. As technology has advanced and as environments have become more damaging and more difficult to handle the need for coatings with a higher degree of protection has also increased. As a result, new coating materials are constantly being developed to handle these more demanding applications. Today's discussion will be on high performance coatings. By high performance coatings we refer to a coating system which has superior properties in one or more of the following areas:

  • Chemical Resistance

  • High Temperature Resistance

  • Slip and Anti-Friction

  • Wear, Abrasion and Damage Resistance

  • Electrical and Release Properties
