Over the past few years I've, on occasions, discussed cathodic protection of marine pipelines with several operators. It has become apparent that the regulations with which an operating company must comply are multitudinous, sometimes vague, criteria that may differ on various portions of a pipeline and compliance with existing regulations can be difficult and expensive.
