The LeRoy Field was developed for gas storage in 1971. Figure 1 is a map of the field. LeRoy Wells 1, 2, and 3 were drilled by Shell Oil Company and reentered by Mountain Fuel to be converted to gas storage observation wells. LeRoy 1 is across a fault and is not considered a part of the field. Well plugback depths range from 3,053' to 3,758'. Figure 2 shows a typical current well completion. The storage interval, at about 3,000', is known as the Thaynes Formation. This is a water drive reservoir. The maximum reservoir pressure is 1,750 psi, and the minimum pressure is 500 psi during withdrawal. Gas storage capacity is estimated to be 6.5 billion cubic feet. Bottom-hole temperature is 93°F.
