PESTICIDES USED IN THE UNITED STATES ARE CURRENTLY REQUIRED TO BE REGISTERED UNDER THE FEDERAL INSECTICIDE, FUNGICIDE, AND RODENTICIDE ACT (FIFRA). THERE HAS BEEN SOME MEASURE OF FEDERAL REGULATION OVER THE MARKETING OF PESTICIDES SINCE THE PASSAGE OF THE FEDERAL INSECTICIDE ACT OF 1910. THIS ACT PROHIBITED THE MANUFACTURE, SALE OR TRANSPORTATION OF ADULTERATED OR MISBRANDED INSECTICIDES AND FUNGICIDES.
