After 17 years of commercial service, the occupational radiation exposure associated with Commonwealth Edison's Dresden 1 nuclear power plant have continually increased, as have most other units (1). In order for routine maintenance and inspection operations to occur with minimum radiation exposure, decontamination of the plant is planned for early 1979.
