Literature on the influence of high velocity sea water on the corrosion behavior of metallic materials is limited but has recently received growing interest with the advent of hydrofoils, surface effect ships, and specialized sea water pumps. This review presents currently used test methods for generating high velocity sea water flows, methods of data acquisition, data analysis techniques and published corrosion rate data.
