The control of corrosion in the overhead systems of crude oil distillation units has been widely studied (1-11). The use of organic corrosion inhibitors and methods of neutralisation of the acid gases released in the process together with the relevance to industrial situations of many laboratory and pilot plant tests have also been considered (6,11-14).
