Solar heating is an attractive technology for applications that require the use of heat at moderate temperatures as a means of supplying loads characterized by fairly uniform demands over their annual cycles. By "moderate temperatures" we wish to imply that temperatures are below 65° C (150° F), and, by "uniform demands over their annual cycles," we wish to imply that the mean demand in any 1-week period is not more than twice the annual mean demand.
