There is a growing, world-wide interest in the development of geothermal power. PGandE has a geothermal energy development in northeastern Sonoma County, about 75 air miles north of San Francisco. The facility, known as The Geysers Power Plant, is the world's largest geothermal power project, and is the only one in the United States.
