High strength stainless steels (75-175 KSI Y.S.) and low alloy high strength steels (50KSI) provide the design engineer with attractive combinations of useful strength and corrosion resistance. This unique property combination suggests a number of potential applications in structural designs for use in corrosive chemical plant atmospheres. A major benefit should be assured durability for as- welded structurals without requiring application and maintenance of costly protective coatings.
