"Hindsight is better than foresight." Credit for this statement is lost forever in the anals of written history, but no better description applies to the first portion of this paper. In 1972, we reported that we had perfected a design whereby anodes could be installed deep (50' or more), and should anything occur to impair their functioning, they could be removed and replaced. This restored the deep groundbed to its rightful place in the tool bag of the Corrosion Engineer.
