One function of the Aeronautical Systems Branch, Systems Support Division of the Air Force Materials Laboratory is to perform failure analysis studies relating to both new designs and in existing systems including electronic systems. The Branch attempts to assure that weak points in existing systems are not carried over into new or updated designs.
