The number of generic types of coatings has not appreciably changed for several years. The demand for higher quality coating applications has increased and has effected the quality control procedures, application techniques, and the variety of coatings within a generic classification. The nuclear power industry and increased environmental requirements have been instrumental in pushing for these greater controls. This paper will describe how these increased controls have effected the paint application industry.
