A SURVEY OF ANY GOOD TECHNICAL LIBRARY WILL USUALLY REVEAL BOOKS OR PAMPHLETS ON THE ANALYSIS OF FAILURES IN VARIOUS MATERIALS. FOR EXAMPLE, MANY THOUSANDS OF WORDS HAVE BEEN RECORDED ON THE SUBJECT OF FAILURES IN STEEL STRUCTURES AND IN CONCRETE STRUCTURES. HOWEVER, IN THE CASE OF REINFORCED PLASTICS, THE SOURCES OF LITERATURE CONCERNING THE SUBJECT ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN. OF COURSE, THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THERE HAVE NOT BEEN FAILURES IN REINFORCED PLASTICS STRUCTURES.
