Abstract
Aluminum Co. of Canada, Ltd. operates a harbor in Eastern Canada, 265 miles north of Montreal. The Port Alfred Harbor is located at the end of a nine-mile-long bay on the Saguenay River, 66 miles upstream from the St. Lawrence River. Exhibits 1 and 2. The harbor is a vital terminal for supply of bauxite, coke, caustic, oil and other raw materials required to operate two aluminum smelters capable of producing 750,000 tons of metal annually. The outgoing cargo consists mainly of metal, chemicals and paper.
