The development of emulsion epoxy coatings has progressed significantly and I feel that present users of epoxy and related coatings will find these water based epoxy coatings exciting in a practical sense. The application advantages of water based epoxy coatings over solvent based coatings are more than noteworthy and it is my pleasure to report on the success of these materials and discuss their high potential for use in industry today. Incidentally, we use the term water base epoxy and emulsion epoxy interchangeably with no distinction or differences intended.
