The objectives of the PR-3-41 Project were to obtain and analyze data on telluric gradients and on their associated pipeline effects, and to assess the significance of these effects. Earlier work on the PR-3-41 Project was concerned with H.V.D.C. effects on buried structures (1,2). The data were obtained in 1968 and 1969 by the Northern Natural Gas Company, the El Paso Natural Gas Company, Columbia Gas-Ohio Fuel Gas Company, and Pacific Lighting Service and Supply Company, at sites in Wisconsin, Washington, Ohio, and California. The companies sent the data to Battelle Columbus Laboratories for analysis.
