Vehicles are subjected to varying degrees of corrosion- inducing environments, from a minimal condition that exists in the Southwest desert area to a maximum condition that exists in the Northeast industrial snowbelt area. Figure 1 shows the relatively corrosion free condition on the inside of a 1963 door assembly that had been in use for six years in the Southwest area. Figure 2 shows a considerably higher degree of corrosion on the inside of a 1963 door assembly that had been in use for five years in the Detroit area.
