Cast heat-resistant alloys have been widely used for many years in high temperature equipment. Although the creep and rupture properties of the alloys may be well established and the service performance of the alloys has been good, little has been published on the metallography of the alloys or on the microstructural changes occurring during elevated temperature service, particularly when the material was under stress.
