One-layer welded overlays, to be of any value to corrosion engineers, must be inherently corrosion resistant. The overlays described in this paper are stainless steel compositions, meeting standard ASTM specifications for weld deposits. As such, they do have the stainless qualities characteristic of the corresponding classifications.
