Trans Mountain operates a 719 mile, 24 inch crude oil pipe line from Edmonton, Alberta to Burnaby, British Columbia, with a 24 inch spur line to the International Boundary, south of Sumas, British Columbia (Figure 1). This pipe line system has been in operation since 1953.
